Romantic Rooftop Pools

Hotel Fasano, Rio

The location of this contemporary cool pad is as good as it gets. Situated on Rio’s legendary Ipanema Beach and designed by Phillipe Stark, this rooftop elevates it far beyond your ordinary luxury hotel. But it’s the pool that’ll have you mouthing the word ‘overdraft’ – there’s no tearing away from it with cracking views of golden sands, mountain and its Giselle lookalikes in barely there bikinis slurping on sun-downers. Beware, entry to the pool is highly sought after so book well in advance.

Hotel Arts, Barcelona

The sun blushed Spanish city isn’t short on chic places to rest your head but for plush surroundings with a hipster edge. Despite this place taking a bit of a beating, this pool receive top marks. In the shadow of Frank Gehry’s monumental fish sculpture and overlooking the buzzy Barcelona beachfront, slip on your bikini and watch your fellow punters drool as you strut from poolside to oversized hammock – the ideal spot for a little tete a tete.

The Sixty Les Hotel, New York

This hip New York hangout is all shrink chairs, monochrome furnishings and illuminated headboards. But it’s the pool that gets our vote – an Andy Warhol filmstrip pool, no less – where you can mingle with the modish set in their teeny-weeny bikinis. All in all, a top-notch joint on the Lower East Side to escape the New York City heat.

Park Hyatt, Sydney

With swoon worthy views of the Opera House and the gorgeous harbour, this palatial pool is a destination in its own right. It’s not just the killer location- there’s faultless service, an adjoining spa and white sunbeds to lounge on. Just make sure you perfect your come-hither eyes and flirty swagger –the suites in this opulent hotel are crying out for spontaneous shenanigans between the sheets, add a pleasure set and discover a more adventurous love-making experience.
