Although exciting, going on a date can be an apprehensive experience, no matter how confident you are, or how many dates you have already been on. If the date is particularly special, for instance if you like the person, or feel like this might be THE night where things get more intimate, then it can be even more nerve-racking. To ensure that you feel calm and sexy on your big night, here are four top tips to get you date-ready…
Have a workout
Increase your general knowledge.
Easier said than done – staying calm and composed in the run up to your date can be tricky, especially when hormones are racing, and preening and preparation is underway. Try to take a few minutes of quiet before the date to practice some deep breathing or mindfulness. Affirming some positive mantras in your head can help to give you internal assurance, and ease any tensions away. Phrases such as ‘I am sexy and intelligent’ or ‘I feel confident and ready’ can be great verses to use, so try repeating these quietly inside your head either at home, on the bus, or whilst waiting for your date to arrive.
Once your inside is feeling good, it’s time to work on the outside. As this is a big occasion, which could lead to a potential long-lasting relationship, allow yourself full permission to indulge yourself for a top-to-toe pamper session. Waxing, mani/pedi, skin exfoliating, bronzing and blow drying your hair can all help you to feel at your sexiest and ready for whatever the date throws at you. Scent is also important, so use fragrant body moisturisers, oils and perfumes that leave a trace of your sexy presence even when you leave the room. Just make sure you don’t wear anything overpowering that will leave your date choking from across the table!
To ensure that you are well prepared for any date, always remember to slip a packet of condoms and some lube into your handbag or jacket pocket. This will ensure you are never caught short if things get passionate and steamy!
